It’s with great sadness that we share the news of the tragic and sudden passing of Matt Dowdle. Matt was a long standing member and team captain in the SNHL. After winning the Callaghan Cup and being named the Bill Whitbread Playoff MVP last season, he decided it was time to retire from Sunday nights.
Matt was a great teammate, leader, and friend. His contribution to the success of the SNHL will never be forgotten. Our thoughts are with his wife Ali and their three kids, as well as the Dowdle and Earle families. Donations in his memory can be made to Jack.org .
We will honour Matt with helmet stickers and a moment of silence before each game this Sunday, and will dedicate the rest of our playoffs in his memory. RIP MD#19. 🏆💚
